Hello all! I am Maja (she/her), a major nerd, college student, and internet dog! I spend most of my days chilling out here on Discord, on Twitch or on Youtube.
I do play games, but mainly like to play solo. On occasion I'll play multiplayer; however, I normally do this with close friends that I am comfortable with.
If I'm not playing games or focusing on watching Twitch/Youtube, I'm normally thinking and planning.
I tend to think constantly about various things, as I'm autistic and have too many hyperfixations for my own good.
Below here are some of my just general likes, I'll talk about my hyperfixations later!
I'm always open to meeting new peeps and making new friends!
If you feel like dropping by and don't mind me talking your brain into mush, feel free to come meet or talk to me! I'll be waiting for ya! ^^
- Cold climates / Mountains / The woods
- RP (of which I do very often, rp is a very large part of my online life.)
- Video games (Phasmophobia, Crab Champions, Rimworld, Warhammer 40k:Darktide, Battlebit Remastered, the Assassins creed series, plus more)
- Reading
- DnD (Not an active player, but love the game a lot)
- Fishing / Boating
This is by no means a comprehensive list, and will be updated as I remember things.
I'm a big fan of all things science! Although I study it off and on, I always hold science in a high regard. The scientific disciplines I enjoy the most are as follows:
Note, these are not in any particular order. Simply listed off as I thought of them!
Language learning is invariably the hyperfixation that sticks around the most. I am constantly studying and trying to learn new things in the languages I study.
I have high aspirations to learn as many languages as I can!
If you know a language besides for English, feel free to talk to me about it or even teach me a bit about it! Especially if you know a less common language like Irish.
I am a big fan of obscure, non-mainstream languages!
Physical books are a big love for me, I can't seem to read or get into digital books. I love physical books so much that I collect them.
Over the course of the past few years I have collected hundreds of books across various subjects. Most of my books are science or language related with novels and comics littered here and there.
I like learning of and chatting about books, so feel free to drop by to do so! Below are some of my favorite books:
Whether we're talking hardware (building, flipping, customizing pcs) or software (programming and the like) I absolutely love this topic. I have been a fan of programming since middle school and have fooled with various programming languages.
I was introduced to programming in middle school through minor web development; for which, I developed various webpages in place of power point projects. I eventually started to land on bigger, more general purpose languages like C++, C, Python, Java, Golang, etc. After years of working with a number of languages, I have settled on Python as my primary focus as of recent due to my focus on discord bots and minor GUI applications I use for myself. I don't do any work professionally for it, as I don't believe my skills are of adequate level yet.
As of July 6th, 2023 I have been studying hardware (both low and high level) for around 2 months. This was spurred on by me noticing that my HP desktop was in serious need of some upgrades (primarily PSU and Motherboard along with storage). I had been wanting to build my own PC for years, and since I had recently made a bit of extra money I decided to do the necessary research. I successfully built my first custom built desktop a week or two later, and have fallen in love with the hobby since. I am looking forward to building more and new PCs as I'm able to, particularly in the ITX form factor; god do I love those tiny things.
Going along with my language aspirations, I aspire to learn as much as I can about life, all aspects of it. So don't be afraid to offer to teach me something!
I hope to one day run my own business, I'm not sure about what yet, but thats for future me to decide!
I aspire to live somewhere up north, though, I am unsure if I will want to move out of the U.S as tempting as it may be.
As much as I don't wanna, it's important for potential friends to know what they're getting themselves into.
So please allow me to explain some mental health problems I experience, that may affect my behavior.
